Chicago Tribune Reported Before: Oberweis for eliminating employer-based health care

Don't take our word for it, take the Chicago Tribune's:

"On health care, Foster said there should be a universal program that could include a larger role for the federal government and a role for private enterprise. Oberweis said employer-provided health insurance should be eliminated..." [Chicago Tribune 2/22/08].

Update: Mr. Oberweis and campaign don't like that characterization, though he's said it in every interview, and have asked for a correction. So we'll just quote his website: "The problem is, the health care delivery system we've created for ourselves -- a "third party payer" system, in which most Americans get their health insurance through their employer -- creates perverse incentives... In the long run, then, a fundamental element of health care reform must be to move away from the third party payer system..."
