Foster's Campaign Again Out-Raises Both Hastert and Hultgren Combined
Congressman’s Team Raises $345K for Fourth Quarter, Now Has More Than $1 Million On Hand for General Election
(Batavia, IL) - Today, the Bill Foster for Congress Campaign continued to demonstrate its political strength by raising $345,461 during the fourth fundraising quarter of 2009 (October 1 – January 13). The Federal Elections Commission (FEC) extended the quarter until the middle of January because of Illinois’ early primary.
By comparision, during this same period, the Hastert for Congress Campaign raised $201,709 and the Hultgren for Congress Campaign raised $110,977 meaning the Republican challengers raised a total of $312,686.
Nick Daggers, the Foster for Congress Finance Director said, “We appreciate the tremendous support we have received from individuals of all parties who support Congressman Foster’s thoughtful approach to solving problems. It is extremely gratifying to know that for the second quarter in a row, our supporters outraised those backing our Republican opponents.”
With this fourth quarter total, the Foster Campaign has raised $1,417,397 for the 2010 cycle and has $1,028,585 cash-on-hand. By comparision, his two Republican opponents now have a combined $181,315 available.
Said Daggers, “Because of his unique background as a businessman and scientist, who knows how to create jobs and make payroll, Congressman Foster has attracted the support of Republicans, Democrats and Independents.”
