Naperville, IL – Today, the Foster for Congress campaign announced that Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) is endorsed by Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL).
“It’s critical that we do all that we can to keep Bill Foster in Congress,” said Senator Durbin. “It is a source of pride for Illinois that we are home to the only PhD physicist in Congress. Bill understands the scientific and technical aspects of legislation better than anyone, and his guidance is indispensable. I’ve known Bill since his very first days as a candidate for public office, and I know this – there is no one who works harder or more thoughtfully to make sure his constituents are well represented. I’m proud to endorse him for reelection.
“I’m proud to endorse Bill Foster for re-election,” said Senator Duckworth. “Bill has been working to better the lives of the people of Illinois from before his time in Congress, when he spent more than two decades at Fermilab pushing the boundaries of scientific research and innovation. He’s a rock solid supporter of reproductive rights and sensible gun violence legislation, and he isn’t afraid of taking a tough vote to pass meaningful legislation that will benefit his constituents—just as he did when he voted to pass the Affordable Care Act. Simply put, Illinois is better served having Bill Foster in Congress, and we need to work to keep him there.”
