Friday, August 19, 2022

Naperville, IL – Today, the Foster for Congress campaign announced that Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) is endorsed by former Police Chief of the Aurora Police Department, Kristen Ziman.

“I spent nearly 30 years as a member of the Aurora law enforcement community, including over five years as Chief of Police, and during that time I met a lot of politicians from both parties,” Chief Ziman said. “Bill Foster is one of the most thoughtful elected officials I’ve worked with, and his passion for the communities he represents is second-to-none.

“Congressman Foster is a great supporter of the individuals who protect and serve our communities as police officers and first responders, and he works tirelessly to secure federal resources to improve public safety throughout the suburbs.

“Congressman Foster believes we can both support local law enforcement and hold bad cops accountable for abusing their power. He knows the importance of community-oriented policing that builds relationships between officers and the people in the communities they serve – building trust and respect. And, he’s committed to common sense gun violence reforms that will help our police officers by keeping guns out of the wrong hands. This is the type of thoughtfulness we need more of in Congress. I’m proud to support his reelection.”

Kristen Ziman is the former Police Chief of the Aurora, Illinois Police Department. Ziman served the Aurora Police Department for nearly 30 years and was the first woman to serve as Chief in the department’s history.
